Something to look forward to

Although the greenhouse is shut down so we can make modifications to our system, tomatoes are seeded and growing beautifully. In a couple of days I'll be getting the lettuce and cucumbers started. I love this part of my job!

Planning is underway. This summer we're going to try the Cambridge Farmer's Market located in City Center parking lot outside of the Co-Op. It runs every Saturday from May 9th to October 31st, from 9 am to 1 pm. Once I see how the produce is growing and get a feel for the weekly volume I will most likely attend the Lindstrom Farmers Market located in the St. Bridget of Sweden Church parking lot (right off Hwy. 8) on Wednesday afternoons, from 3 pm to 6 pm.

It's only been a few months, but it seems like forever since I've been happily tending to my plants in the greenhouse. I am super anxious to get back into the thick of it, literally! I'm also really looking forward to not having to buy my produce from the grocery store ;p I find myself picking through the varieties of lettuce and feeling all of the cucumbers with a scowl on my face for several minutes, because the quality is so poor. It's so frustrating! I'll be the first to admit that I became very spoiled and accustomed to our high quality produce, and was so very grateful for it.

Hope everyone is doing well, and starting to plan their spring and summer activities. Make sure attending the farmers markets and supporting your local farmers is on your list of things to do ;) Your visits and business are always greatly appreciated!
