Farmers market tomorrow!
If you haven't heard, Bright Future Farms is an aquaponic/hydroponic greenhouse, currently growing hydroponically. That means a recirculating, self sustaining enclosed environment with no soil and no chemicals. Freshly harvested lettuce, cucumbers and microgreens.
I'm patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for the tomatoes to ripen and sweet peppers to get a little bigger. As a tasty treat on the side I get to nibble on green beans we've been trying out in the greenhouse this year. The broccoli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts smell good, but I have yet to figure out if they're going to produce anything or just be really big plants :)
The weather should be pretty decent for us tomorrow, so come and check us out at the @CambridgeFarmersMarket from 9 am to 1 pm in the City Center parking lot. There's a good variety of vendors, all who are enjoyable to talk with and learn from!
Once again, we'll have bird houses and bird feeders that my dad made during the Covid shut-down to stay out of trouble (or out of my mom's hair!). Constructed of cedar and long lasting, the birds love these!
